“There sure are a lot of Mother Marys around here”, I remarked to Dominique. “Is there some kind of Mary cult in this area of France”? I joked.
I’ve been driving around the countryside with him for a few weeks in the Lot Valley, a sleepy part of France. Little villages dot the countryside and many of them have a statue of the Mother Mary either at a crossroad at the beginning of the village or next to a church.
“No cults Karen, but the virgins show us a nice energetic point”, Dominique said. He had my interest right away. “So, Mother Mary is showing us a place of good vibrations!” I laughingly replied. I knew that in churches, many times Mary or a specific Saint in the little side chapels were placed over a special energy place. These points could be in the form of a vortex, a water vein or fault. I didn’t know by the roadside we could find these special virgins guiding us to nice energy. What a surprise!
Dominique decided to give me a little tour of these Mother Marys. It was a beautiful spring day for our tour. Our first stop was to see a Mary situated on the crossroads of Mongesty, France. She was wearing a crown and held a happy Christ baby with his arms outspread. Dominique explained that this type of Mary shows a point of calibrated and complete energy. If you stand next to her, you can feel a connection to the earth, then the energy rises up cleaning the chakra system, finally connecting you to the cosmos. It is a nice place for some spring cleaning of your energy system! I took advantage of this after taking a few photos.
If you find one of these Mother Marys, try to see if you can feel the opening of your energy connecting you to heaven and earth. Many times you can feel your central channel open and there is a circulation of energies flowing between heaven and earth. This cleanses your energy body and raises your vibration.
The next Mary on our little tour through the countryside was a Madonna in a churchyard. She stood on several octagons and her open hands pointed towards the earth in a welcoming fashion. This position tells us she is on a telluric spot. If you look closely, you can see a snake winding around her foot. In the Master Builder tradition, this means she is over a point of earth energy and snakes represent water. Mary is acting as an acupuncture point over a water vein, to bring us a nice point of energy to enjoy.
I stood close to her to feel the energy she was sharing. Since it was a telluric point, I could feel the energy connecting me to the earth. It was a nice spot to feel my central channel open. These types of telluric points are where the energy goes down if you find this type of Mother Mary, see if you can feel your feet more strongly and more grounded in your body.
Our last two virgins were positioned on other crossroads. In both of them, the hands were in a prayer position, pointing to the type of energy they are connected to. This is a cosmic Mary. When I stood next to each of them to feel the energy, both opened my central channel and connected me to the energy of the cosmos and I could feel the opening of my crown chakra. For me, it feels like a little tickling on top of my head. If you find one of these Mother Marys, see if you can feel the opening of your energy to the cosmos!
Not all Mary statues are built on good energy points. It is important to look for any clues the Virgin is giving you. Her hand positions, does she wear a crown and is holding the Christ child? Is there a snake underfoot?
Then, you need to feel the energies and see if the point is actually a good one. Just as all churches are not well calibrated and built in the tradition of the Master Builders, not all Madonnas are over nice energetic points. Part of what we teach at the Boulder Centre for Master Builders is how to open your sensibilities to feel these different types of energies.
